Challenge
Create a central hub of resources and services accessible only to enrolled students and their parents.
Solution 1
Use Google Sites because the Google Workspace was already being used as the Learning Management System (LMS). Students and parents used their school accounts to log into the portal.
Solution 2
Academic heads and service offices to be in charge of the content. Selected staff who were Certified Google Educators were given editor roles for faster revision of text content and documents.

Style Guide
As the logo and color theme have already been designed previously, we applied them in the text, background, and icons.
Takeaways
The MC KNOLLER student portal was an iterative project that aimed to improve a website and make it more interactive, secure, and integrated with the users' learning management system.
This was a highly collaborative project between the academic units (E-Learning Managers, academic unit heads, student services offices, and faculty members) who are knowledgeable in the content and our office that is composed of designers. It was our role as designers to recommend the best methods through which the content can be presented and be easily received by its primary users.
Before online distance learning was implemented due to the pandemic, there were very limited initiatives to make student services available online. Students and parents were required to physically visit the campus and its offices which posed difficulty for parents who were working. The students, parents, and school service offices will benefit from this project during and beyond the pandemic because of the convenience and secured access it provides.
